"In discourse we nurture distinction"
This site is a bringing-together of several things urgently needed in education. Across the UK, more and more schools are beginning to place curriculum at the heart of what they do; some of these schools can be found here. The most powerful lever in the development of curriculum in a school is the sustained engagement of specialist staff with the subject discourse - and the directory here offers a starting point for joining that discourse. The ongoing professionalisation of teaching calls for an agreed theory of curriculum, and curriculum work can only find success in schools where the culture is right. These three strands: theory, culture, and the subject specialisms, are the components of excellence in curriculum work, and they can all be developed through reading, reflection, discourse and intentional working.
